Construction & fabrics

These choices are all made before cutting, not during finishing.
Reverse-engineering from a reference is a real skill
We read the construction from photographs and a reference garment, identify the fabric and the finish methods, and flag anything that will not reproduce at a production price before sampling starts.
Test quantities are planned to be repeatable
The first run is small, but the pattern, the fabric source and the trim are all recorded so a successful style can be repeated rather than redeveloped.
Construction problems are raised before sampling
If a detail will not hold up, or will cost more than the style can carry, we say so at technical review — not after the sample is made.
Fabric direction
Depends on the reference. Stock fabric library plus sourcing to specification for anything outside it.
