LA Fashion Week_s AHF to expand into China and Ecuador
Art Hearts Fashion (AHF)_ the California-based organiser of Los Angeles Fashion Week Powered by Art Hearts Fashion_ is set to expand its presence into Shanghai_ China_ and Ecuador.
The organisation announced its intention for international growth upon the closure of this season_s LA Fashion Week_ where over 30 designers presented their collections at The New Mart in Downtown LA.
After wrapping up the event_ AHF said it was looking ahead to its international showcases in Shanghai_ scheduled for November_ and Ecuador_ due in December_ “continuing our mission to celebrate global fashion and creativity”.
The focus in LA_ meanwhile_ was firmly on showcasing both global talent_ Black designers and minority creatives.
A highlight of the event was the Black Design Collective Upcycle Denim and Sustainability Project_ a community fashion show – held in partnership with Guess Jeans_ Wells Fargo and The Salvation Army – for which participants used donated denim and recycled materials to create deconstructed/reconstructed garments.
LA Fashion Week participants like Mister Triple X and Alexis Monsanto also gave a glimpse into AHF_s plans for its China show_ with the organisation to “take centre stage at Shanghai Fashion Week”_ a press release revealed.
AHF also confirmed that NBA star Lamar Odom_ who was in attendance at LA Fashion Week_ is set to collaborate through his brand showcase in Shanghai next month.
For AHF_ venturing into new markets reflects a wider goal of platforming global talent. The runway production platform_ founded in 2010_ already operates events across the US_ with a diverse and inclusive view that positions the organisation more from a philanthropic lens.
