In Pictures: NikeSkims has finally landed_ championing _bold evolution_ in sportswear
After months of speculation and pushback from reported production delays_ the joint project of Nike and Skims has finally been unveiled. Aptly dubbed _NikeSkims__ the new brand delivers what the duo says is a “new aesthetic and system of dress_ obsessively crafted for the body”.
With this_ products in initial launch_ made up of seven collections and 58 silhouettes_ combine Nike_s relationship with athletes and Skims_ “solution-first approach”_ ultimately “redefining activewear for all athletes_ from the elite to the everyday”.
NikeSkims_ products also intend to serve a variety of roles_ taking the wearer from the studio to the gym. The collection_ largely defined by neutral colourways_ provides a complete sports-based wardrobe_ from foundational bras to seasonal accessories.
Initial drop of 58 silhouettes to build entire wardrobe
Three core lines make up much of the offering_ each to be updated as seasons shift. The _Matte_ collection_ for example_ consists of 21 styles of mid-level compression_ utilising Nike_s Dri-Fit performance technology_ with sweat-wicking features and coverage.
The _Shine_ collection also prioritises quick-drying tech_ but instead comes with a sheen finish. Shine products suit strength training_ according to a press release. The _Airy_ collection_ meanwhile_ includes seven “mesh-inspired” knit pieces in both fitted and oversized silhouettes_ each created for low-impact activity.
Four seasonal collections then complement the core lines. These include; Vintage Seamless_ Matte Tricot_ Weightless Layers and Shiny Nylon. Each expands on the wearer_s lifestyle_ largely intended for layering.
The first drop_ scheduled to release September 26_ comes alongside a campaign_ giving viewers more of a feel for the NikeSkims brand. Titled _Bodies at Work__ the imagery and film feature notable athletes_ highlighting the varying strengths and power of women in sport.
Nike turns attention to _her_ with women-centric line
Speaking on both the campaign and the launch of the first collection_ Skims founder and reality star Kim Kardashian said: “Our mission is clear: to redefine women_s activewear without compromise. This collection brings together cutting-edge performance with bold_ style-forward design_ empowering athletes to move effortlessly and conquer their goals with confidence.”
From the perspective of Nike president Amy Montagne_ meanwhile_ NikeSkims reflects a “bold evolution in how women experience sport and style”. “It_s part of Nike_s broader commitment to _her_: uncompromising product innovation that moves and celebrates women_” Montagne added.
The path to launching NikeSkims has been longer than expected. Initially_ the sportswear giant had eyed spring for the release_ however_ reports emerged later of production delays_ pushing back the launch date. The label_s global expansion was also planned for 2026_ after which wholesale partnerships are expected to begin.
In this regard_ NikeSkims has not issued specific dates. Towards the end of the current month_ the collection will be available via a dedicated part of Nike and Skims_ respective e-commerce sites_ as well as select retail locations for both brands.
