Fashion East announces line-up for 25th anniversary
Talent incubator Fashion East_ led by Lulu Kennedy_ which has kick-started the careers of designers such as Kim Jones_ JW Anderson_ and Roksanda_ is celebrating its 25th anniversary during this season of London Fashion Week.
To mark its landmark milestone_ Fashion East will be creating a London Fashion Week Hub_ in partnership with Dazed and Nike_ at the Institute of Contemporary Arts_ including a retrospective exhibition_ panel talks open to the public_ and film screenings_ designed to engage students_ fashion enthusiasts and the wider creative community.
At the heart of the celebrations is a _Us Lot: 25 Years of Fashion East_ powered by Nike_ exhibition_ which will be open to the public from September 20 to 21 in the ICA_s lower gallery.
The retrospective exhibit is curated by Lulu Kennedy and Raphaelle Moore alongside creative consultant Patrick Waugh_ to showcase an intimate look back at the history of the incubator_ featuring special commissions and sculptures from Simone Rocha_ Craig Green and Richard Malone_ special artworks from Jawara Alleyne and Claire Barrow_ iconic fashion photography of alumni by among others_ Wolfgang Tillmans_ Joyce NG_ Jamie Hawkesworth plus previously unseen imagery from Fashion East_s vaults.
Fashion East to host public events to celebrate 25 years of supporting emerging fashion talent
The exhibition sits alongside a public programme within the ICA_ curated in collaboration with Dazed and Nowness_ including a panel talk chaired by Dazed_s fashion features director Emma Davidson_ featuring Fashion East alumni Karoline Vitto_ A Sai Ta_ and Olly Shinder sharing their journeys into fashion and memorable moments from their debut LFW shows.
There will also be two fashion film screenings_ which explore the dynamic relationship between movement and fashion_ as well as offer intimate portraits of fashion_s most visionary creators_ including Simone Rocha and Jonathan Anderson.
In addition_ Fashion East will also present its spring/summer 2026 catwalk showcase_ featuring a trio of emerging designers_ as well as hosting catwalk shows for alumni Jawara Alleyne and Ashley Williams_ continuing to support the next generation of talent.
Fashion East announces spring/summer 2026 designer line-up
The SS26 line-up will include Barcelona-born designer and recent Central Saint Martins MA graduate_ Jacek Gleba_ making his Fashion East debut_ alongside fellow newcomer Mayhew_ the eponymous label by UK-based designer Louis Mayhew_ styled in collaboration with longtime creative partner Lara McGrath.
They will showcase alongside Nuba_ the label by Central Saint Martins graduate Cameron Williams_ who is returning to the Fashion East line-up for the third season.
Commenting on the anniversary plans_ Kennedy and Moore said in a statement: “It is a huge honour to be collaborating with the incredible Institute of Contemporary Arts and see all of our ideas come to life. This is an extra special season for us_ and we_ve had a lot of fun digging through the archives. We couldn_t be more proud of our alumni and their visionary work.
