Ecoalf reinvents Trump's 'MAGA' slogan to celebrate Earth Month

“For some time now_ we have felt that protecting and caring for the planet has been forgotten and has lost its place in the conversation_” warns Javier Goyeneche_ founder and president of Ecoalf_ in a statement shared by the Spanish fashion brand. He adds that in light of this_ “we wanted to share a simple message to remind people that protecting the planet is not a trend or a campaign_ but a matter of responsibility towards future generations”.

A banner... turned into fashion

Ecoalf reinvents Trump's 'MAGA' slogan to celebrate Earth Month

Installed on the façade of number 58 Gran Vía in Madrid_ halfway between Plaza del Callao and Plaza de España_ the 43x27 metre banner featuring the green cap with the slogan “Make Planet Earth Great Again” will not disappear after the campaign. Instead_ it will be repurposed and used to create a capsule collection of bags. These unique_ limited-edition pieces will be sold by Ecoalf to convey a dual message. Firstly_ the need to defend the protection of the planet as an undeniable commitment for all of humanity. Secondly_ to assert its own identity as a fashion brand that is equally committed to both design and sustainability.

“Where others see waste_ Ecoalf sees an opportunity_” the Spanish fashion brand summarises. “Therefore_ the billboard will be transformed into a limited collection of bags_ which will carry with them a piece of the hope” that is being spread through this action. With this initiative_ Ecoalf “reinforces the brand's commitment to the circular economy_” while also sending the message that “caring for the planet is not a trend_ and it knows no borders; it is a collective responsibility.” This is a way of approaching the world that “today_ more than ever_ Ecoalf wants to highlight to us all_ with a message of hope and inspiration for present and future generations”.
